Art Story | Paper Dolls – “Pearl of Great Price”

This painting is one of a series of mixed-media features called Paper Dolls. Paper Dolls are figures drawn onto watercolor paper and then dressed up with acrylic paints before being fixed to an acrylic background on canvas.
Michelle spent the day painting this beauty during worship sets at the REAL Women Conference. She named it after the Parable in Matthew 13, believing that God calls us as women His pearl of great price. The name also honors the ministry of the Lead Pastor at The Ranch who lovingly calls the women she ministers to her “PEARLS.”

Art Story | Lion of Judah: “Steadfast Father”

This painting is one of a triune series called, “Lion of Judah,”three paintings representing God as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. It reminds Michelle that God is her Steadfast Father. His steadfastness became the foundation of her life,His Son her anchor, and His Holy Spirit the guiding force in life.

Scripture teaches that God is Good. He is a Good Father. Steadfast in the storms of our life, stable, faithful, and the only source of truth and pure blessing we will ever know.

Art Story | Water Babies – “Another in the Fire”

This work was commissioned by a woman who spends her life on behalf of others. She walks through the fires of other people’s lives and doesn’t even smell like smoke. She asked me to paint her something around the Hillsong anthem, “Another in the Fire.”
This song, based on the story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, speaks about the grace that God offers us when we walk through the fires of life.
