This painting is one of a series of mixed-media features called in the style of Michelle’s original work, Paper Dolls. Paper Dolls are figures drawn onto watercolor paper and then dressed up with acrylic paints before being fixed to an acrylic background on canvas.
In this painting, Michelle originally saw Jesus wearing a coat of many colors bearing the colors of all the national flags of the world, but as she painted, God showed her these circular spheres that were developing, colliding, and merging. As she painted each circular sphere, she added that color to His coat. As the last sphere was in place, she recognized His coat was not filled in and stopped painting. As she put down her brush she heard the Lord’s voice say, “I’m not finished yet.”
