Art Story | Daddy’s Blessing (Matthew 13:45-46)

“Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant seeking beautiful pearls, who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had and bought it” Matthew 13:45-46 NKJV

This painting is one of a series of mixed-media features called Paper Dolls. Paper Dolls are figures drawn onto watercolor paper and then dressed up with acrylic paints before being fixed to an acrylic background on canvas.

Daddy’s Blessing lives as a personal testimony of the artist embracing God as her Father. One night, she heard a teaching on the Kingdom of God, and they shared the testimony of Jesus’ baptism in the Jordan River. When she heard God say that if it was true about Jesus, it is true about those who are in Him. It’s true about you! She grew closer to God as a result, realizing He’s a Father so loving He would count her so valued that He would give all He has – His only Son – to redeem and have her as His own Pearl of Great Price.
